No one really knows what happened to the once great Academy Mages since their fortress of learning was rendered to ruins, but Kendrick continues to wear their name and no other.
Considered 'human' enough to conduct business in 'civilized' lands, 'monstrous' enough to be trusted by those of the older ways, and possessing no allegiance save to a long dead order, Kendrick provides such diplomatic services with remarkable results, and at equally remarkable prices.

As of yet, this mercenary mage and his crew have delicately managed to remain useful enough, but not too much. But that may well change...
